Mickey Roker Quartet @ Iron Hill Brewery (9:30)
- Every hometown has a hero, and in Philly there's no better candidate for the job than Mickey Roker.
The drumming dean of Ortlieb's is a keen elder in the Philly jazz community.
Roker's career includes heavy lifting with the likes of Dizzy, Sonny, Horace and Herbie;
along with fellow Philadelphians Lee Morgan and Shirley Scott.

Bootsie Barnes Quartet @ New Orleans Café (9:30)
- Bootsie Barnes, is one of the preeminent tenor saxophonists in the city.
He can be seen at a number of clubs, festivals and concert venues on the East Coast.
He has also played internationally at festivals and concerts in Montreal, Paris and Portugal.

Roger Prieto Sextet @ John’s Grille
- Hard bop trumpet digs in and sparks wil fly . . . Headlining at Ortlieb's and Brett's,
Mr. Prieto has joined the ranks of Philly's serious players.

Papa John DeFrancesco Trio @ West End Saloon
- 'Papa' John DeFrancesco is a Hammond B-3 player from Philadelphia. That tells you a lot.
You know his groove will be cooking and funky with strong jazz overtones.

Minas @ Stephen’s Prime (9:00)
- One of the hottest Brazilian bands in the U.S. today. Built upon the multiple talents of Patricia and Orlando Haddad,
(composition, vocals, instrumentals), and a lifetime of shared harmony. Minas is warm and engaging as well as physically moving.
Minas has won Best of Philadelphia awards from Philadelphia Magazine twice, in 1989 and 1997.

Kool Jazz Festival, The Presidential Jazz Weekend, the International Jazz Festival, Pocono Jazz Festival,
Winnipeg Jazz Festival, the Mellon Jazz Festival, and the Berlin Jazz Festival to name a few.
